What you need to do
Agree a project with a supervisor who has been an Early Career or Full member for 12 months (6 if multiyear), then start the joint application and invite them.
You and your supervisor apply together.

Who can apply
This is as of the 2026 cycle. The organiser has not yet confirmed it for 2027.
Middle years of a degree in biochemistry, molecular bioscience or a related subject; not first or final year. You need not be a member. Your supervisor must have been an Early Career or Full member for 12 months (6 if a multiyear member).
- Not open to first-years
- Students at any university
- Your supervisor must be a member of Biochemical Society (accepted grades: Early Career member, Full member). At least 12 months immediately before the deadline. Multiyear members are eligible after six months.
