What you need to do

Who can apply
Bioscience, medical, dental or veterinary undergraduates. BSc: at least two years completed and final year not started when the studentship begins. MSci: final year not started.
- First-years: No for BSc students: two years of study must be completed before the studentship starts. The page gives no minimum year for MSci students.
- University restrictions: not stated by the organiser
- Your supervisor must be a member of Microbiology Society (accepted grades: Full Member, Full Concessionary Member) for at least 12 months (two consecutive membership subscription payments)
- Any area of biosciences, or medical, dental or veterinary science.
Pay and length
- £461.30 a week
- Length: 6 to 8 weeks
- Up to £400 for research consumables, awarded to the supervisor

Notes
The grant is a maximum of £4090.40, covering the student stipend and up to £400 of research consumables. The supervisor uploads two supporting letters with the application. The supervisor must be PhD qualified or hold a senior research or academic position in a higher education institution, research institute, industry, clinical or infection science setting. Applications from International Members are considered subject to the employment laws and practices of the countries involved.
