Who can apply
This is as of the 2026 cycle. The organiser has not yet confirmed it for 2027.
Middle years of a first undergraduate degree in the chemical sciences, registered at a UK or Republic of Ireland institution. No previous degree. You must be an RSC member (student membership is free). No other funding for the same project.
- Not open to first-years
- Students at universities in the UK or Ireland
- You must be a member of Royal Society of Chemistry (accepted grades: Undergraduate Student Members (AFU), Affiliate (AFF), Associate Member (AMRSC), Member (MRSC), Fellow (FRSC)) (you must hold the membership before you submit your application)
- Registered at a UK or Republic of Ireland institution, full-time or part-time, for the majority of the degree.
- Chemistry-related research areas, for lab-based and remote projects.
